Short version: LinkShieldAI is built to detect and prevent phishing. We process the minimum operational data we need to scan links, run the service, prevent abuse, support users, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.
1. Scope
This policy applies when you visit LinkShieldAI websites, use the Discord bot, call the API, use developer tools, install or test LinkShieldAI software, access documentation, or otherwise interact with LinkShieldAI services.
2. Information We Process
Discord bot data
- Messages that contain links, so the bot can inspect those links for phishing, malware, suspicious redirects, or abuse.
- Discord user IDs, server IDs, channel IDs, message IDs, role/configuration data, allowlists, blocklists, and moderation/action logs when needed for bot functionality.
- Basic usage statistics, error logs, and operational diagnostics.
API, developer portal, and SDK data
- Submitted URLs, domains, redirect information, threat verdicts, request timestamps, API keys, account identifiers, usage counts, and rate-limit events.
- Account details: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID from Google instead of a password.
- A record of when you agreed to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund & Cancellation Policy, and which version you agreed to.
- Billing status and subscription metadata if you use a paid plan, such as your plan, subscription and customer IDs from our payment processor, and payment status. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical data such as IP address, user agent, error logs, and security events when needed to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service.
Website and documentation data
- Basic analytics from server logs, such as pages visited, approximate device/browser information, referral data, and error diagnostics. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
- Information you submit through contact, support, or developer portal forms.
3. How We Use Information
- To scan links and return phishing, malware, reputation, or safety verdicts.
- To provide Discord moderation features, alerts, configuration, allowlists, blocklists, and reports.
- To operate the developer portal, authenticate API requests, enforce rate limits, and prevent abuse.
- To improve detection quality, reliability, documentation, and user experience.
- To investigate security incidents, spam, misuse, chargebacks, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To provide support, billing, account notices, and service updates.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information only when reasonably necessary for:
- Hosting, infrastructure, security, logging, analytics, payment, support, or other service providers that help us operate LinkShieldAI.
- Payments: Dodo Payments processes payments for paid plans as the merchant of record. When you pay, you give your payment card, billing address, and any tax details directly to Dodo Payments, and its own privacy policy applies to that information. We share your name, email address, and account ID with Dodo Payments so it can link payments to your account.
- Sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy.
- Abuse prevention, public safety, malware/phishing investigation, blacklist management, or public reports where appropriate.
- Legal compliance, law enforcement requests, dispute resolution, chargeback handling, or protection of LinkShieldAI, users, and the public.
- A business transfer, merger, acquisition, or restructuring, subject to reasonable privacy safeguards.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use only what the service needs to work. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or cross-site tracking.
- Sign-in cookie (essential): The developer portal sets one cookie, "lsa_developer_portal", to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forgery. It is secure and HTTP-only, is removed when you close your browser, and your sign-in ends when you sign out, after 24 hours of inactivity, or after 7 days at most.
- Theme preference: The website and developer portal remember whether you chose the light or dark theme in your browser's local storage ("lsa-theme"). This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Google sign-in: If you use "Sign in with Google", Google's sign-in button loads on the page and Google may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
- Payment pages: Checkout and billing management pages are run by Dodo Payments, which may set its own cookies on those pages.
- Security: The developer portal and API are delivered through Cloudflare, which may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the service from attacks and abuse.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary or set only when you use a feature, we do not show a cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will not be able to sign in to the developer portal without the sign-in cookie.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as needed for service functionality, security, abuse prevention, debugging, analytics, billing, legal obligations, or legitimate operational needs. Some scan, log, or moderation records may be kept longer where they are necessary to prevent repeated abuse, support threat intelligence, or maintain account history.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect operational and account data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices
- Server admins can remove the Discord bot from a server or adjust bot configuration where available.
- API users can rotate or revoke API keys through the developer portal when supported.
- Paid subscribers can update their payment method, download invoices, or cancel under Billing → Manage billing in the developer portal.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser, as described in section 5.
- You may contact support to request access, correction, deletion, or review of account-related data, subject to security, legal, and operational limits.
9. Children's Privacy
LinkShieldAI is not intended to collect personal information from children. Discord users must comply with Discord's age requirements. If you believe a child provided personal information directly to LinkShieldAI, contact us so we can review the request.
10. International Use
LinkShieldAI may process information in countries where we or our providers operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred and processed outside your location.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as LinkShieldAI changes. When we make updates, we will revise the date on this page and may provide additional notice for material changes.
